Audi Q5 (2018–2025 Previous Body Style) Stealth Hidden Hitch Installation

Installed standard receiver hitch on a second-generation Audi Q5

Vehicle coverage: 2018–2024 Audi Q5, 2025 second-generation Q5, and 2018–2025 SQ5; plug-in hybrid excluded
Receiver: Detachable 2-inch rack receiver; removable tow ball available when selected
Finished appearance: Hitch is concealed when the attachment is removed
Installation: Rear fascia and factory reinforcement removal; no visible trimming
Trailer wiring: Available only with the compatible Stealth passive tow kit; active Audi factory-style harnesses and module programming are not offered

The premium Q5 option: a hidden structural frame and removable receiver that leave the rear of the vehicle looking original between uses.

The hidden hitch replaces or integrates with the Q5’s factory rear reinforcement behind the bumper.

1. Documenting and disassembling the rear

Lighting, cameras, sensors, liftgate operation, and panel alignment are checked. Cargo trim, taillights, wheel-arch trim, liners, and bumper fasteners are removed carefully.

2. Removing the bumper and reinforcement

The fascia is released evenly and supported while rear electrical connections are separated. The factory reinforcement is removed to expose the body mounting points.

3. Installing the hidden frame

The concealed frame is aligned at the factory mounting locations. Retained brackets and hardware are positioned as specified, then all structural fasteners are tightened and torqued in sequence.

4. Fitting the removable-receiver latch

The stainless latch block is installed beneath the bumper and tested with the receiver inserted. Locking engagement, receiver height, and safety-chain access are verified before the fascia returns.

5. Reassembly and systems check

Rear electrical connections, fascia, lights, wheel trim, liners, and cargo panels are restored. Panel fit, lighting, sensors, cameras, liftgate operation, and receiver removal are checked.

With the receiver or tow ball removed, the Q5 retains its original rear appearance with no permanent receiver hanging below the bumper.

Stealth passive wiring is available. We install Audi trailer wiring only as part of the compatible Stealth towing package. The passive system can be function-tested before the vehicle is returned and does not require us to install or program Audi's active factory-style towing module.
