The SHT25064A active tow kit connects the hidden SHR62005 receiver to the Ioniq 5's electronic systems and provides a protected 4-way trailer connector. XRT models are not included in this fitment.
Connector Location: The 4-way connector is routed outside the vehicle and held at the hitch with its supplied magnetic holder; it is not stored loose inside the cargo area.
1. Confirming Model and Electronic Functions
We verify the vehicle is a non-XRT 2025–2026 Ioniq 5 and document lighting, camera, parking-sensor, and rear-access functions before disassembly.
2. Opening Rear Access
Taillights, wheel-well trim, lower fasteners, rear fascia, and the required rear structure are removed carefully following the Stealth procedure.
3. Installing the Active Harness and Controller
The SHT25064A harness and control module are connected and secured in the protected rear compartment using the manufacturer-defined routing.
4. Mounting the Tow Components
Safety-chain anchors, latch hardware, power, ground, and the 4-way connector are installed and secured away from movement and sharp edges.
5. Reassembly, Programming Check, and Testing
The vehicle is reassembled and the trailer-light output is tested along with cameras, sensors, lamps, and any functions affected by trailer connection.
