Audi Q7 (2017–2019) Standard Hitch Installation

Installed Stealth hidden hitch on a 2017 to 2019 Audi Q7

Vehicle coverage: 2017–2019 Audi Q7
Receiver: Fixed 2-inch receiver
Finished appearance: Receiver remains visible below the bumper
Installation: Rear fascia and reinforcement access required
Trailer wiring: Not offered with the standard receiver; Audi wiring is installed only with a compatible Stealth passive towing package

A fixed 2-inch receiver for the 2017–2019 Q7. It provides a permanent attachment point at a lower price than the removable hidden system.

The Q7 receiver mounts to the vehicle’s rear structure behind the fascia, requiring careful disassembly around the wheel arches, taillights, sensors, and cargo trim.

1. Documenting rear systems and panel alignment

Lights, cameras, sensors, liftgate operation, and bumper gaps are checked before trim is removed.

2. Removing wheel-arch, cargo, light, and fascia hardware

The access sequence is followed so hidden fasteners are reached without bending trim or damaging painted edges. Rear electrical connectors are separated with the ignition off.

3. Opening the structural mounting area

The factory reinforcement components are removed as required and the body mounting surfaces, heat shielding, threads, and retained brackets are inspected.

4. Installing and torquing the receiver

The receiver is raised into position, aligned with the body structure, and secured with structural hardware tightened evenly and torqued to specification.

5. Reassembly and vehicle-function testing

The fascia, sensors, lights, wheel trim, liners, cargo panels, and retained hardware are restored. Receiver alignment, clearances, safety-chain access, lighting, cameras, sensors, and liftgate operation are verified.

Fixed receiver. The 2-inch opening remains visible. Choose the hidden counterpart if you want the original rear appearance between uses.

Wiring is not offered with this standard receiver. The only Audi trailer wiring we install is the compatible Stealth passive tow-kit wiring supplied as part of a Stealth towing package. We do not install or program Audi's active factory-style harnesses.
