1. Preparing the Rear Undercarriage
We begin by lowering the spare tire and removing the driver-side underbody panel to expose the factory mounting area. All clips and retainers are handled carefully and kept organized for proper reassembly.
2. Supporting and Lowering the Exhaust
The exhaust is supported before the rear rubber isolators are carefully released. This creates the working room needed for the receiver while protecting the exhaust system and surrounding components.
3. Raising and Aligning the Hitch
The receiver is maneuvered over the exhaust and aligned with the factory mounting locations. A controlled two-person lift helps protect the hitch finish and nearby vehicle components while the hardware is started cleanly.
4. Securing the Vehicle-Specific Hardware
The supplied M10 and M12 hardware is installed at the CURT-designated mounting points. Each fastener is tightened evenly, then torqued to the manufacturer’s specification with calibrated tools.
5. Reassembly and Final Inspection
The underbody panel, spare tire, and exhaust are restored to their proper positions. We finish by checking receiver alignment, exhaust clearance, hardware security, and the overall fit of every disturbed component.
