1. Removing the Driver-Side Underbody Panel
The driver-side underbody panel is removed by carefully releasing its push fasteners and retaining nuts. The mounting area is then exposed without damaging the surrounding trim or reusable hardware.
2. Preparing the Factory Mounting Points
The factory weldnuts are inspected and cleaned as needed before installation. Preparing the threads helps the supplied hardware start smoothly and protects against cross-threading.
3. Raising and Aligning the Receiver
The hitch is raised into position and aligned with the six factory mounting points. If additional working room is needed, the exhaust is supported and lowered carefully before the receiver is positioned.
4. Securing the Hitch
Six supplied M10 bolts with conical-toothed washers secure the receiver to the vehicle. The hardware is tightened progressively and torqued to CURT’s specification with calibrated tools.
5. Final Clearance and Component Check
The receiver is checked for centered alignment and proper clearance from the exhaust and surrounding components. In accordance with CURT’s instructions, the removed underbody panel and its fasteners are returned to the vehicle owner.
