BMW X3 (2018–2024) Stealth Hitch Installation

Stealth Hitch installation on the 2018–2024 BMW X3 requires removal of rear cargo trim, taillights, wheel-well trim, parking-sensor connections, the rear fascia, and the factory reinforcement beam. The hitch frame integrates at the factory structural mounts, leaving only the removable receiver visible when installed. The bumper, electronics, trim, and lighting are carefully reassembled and checked for clean fitment.
Towing Capacity: 6,000 lbs
Tongue Weight: 600 lbs

1. Opening the Cargo Area and Removing the Taillights
Interior cargo panels, taillight access covers, vent panels, and necessary storage trim are removed to reach the rear fascia attachments. Both taillights are carefully removed so the bumper can be released without damaging the lamps, surrounding trim, or alignment clips.

2. Releasing Wheel-Well Trim and Hidden Fascia Fasteners
Fasteners beneath the vehicle, inside the wheel wells, along the lower fascia, and behind the rear reflectors on applicable trims are removed. Portions of the wheel-well trim are separated only as far as needed to expose the concealed bumper hardware.

3. Disconnecting Electronics and Removing the Rear Fascia
The rear fascia is released while the parking-sensor system and other bumper electronics are disconnected and protected. Because the fascia is large and complex, two installers support it during removal and reinstallation to protect the paint, clips, wiring, and sensor components.

4. Replacing the Reinforcement Beam with the Stealth Hitch
The factory reinforcement beam is removed from the frame rails and replaced by the Stealth Hitch structure at the factory mounting points. The concealed latch block, safety-chain mounts, and wiring bracket are fitted as required, then the removable receiver is checked for secure engagement and locking operation.

5. Reassembly, Alignment, and System Checks
The fascia, parking-sensor connections, wheel-well trim, taillights, and interior cargo panels are carefully reinstalled. Final checks confirm bumper fitment, sensor operation, exhaust alignment, receiver engagement, and the clean factory-style appearance.
