Honda Pilot (2023–Present) Trailer Wiring Installation
The Pilot’s factory trailer-wiring connection is accessed beneath the rear cargo floor near the driver-side wheel well. A vehicle-specific harness plugs into the factory connector, receives a secure chassis ground, and is activated with the correct towing fuses for the model year. The 4-flat stores inside the cargo area and is fully tested before the battery and trim are restored.

1. Disconnecting Power and Opening the Cargo Area
The vehicle battery is disconnected before the rear cargo floor and driver-side storage area are opened. This protects the vehicle while providing access to Honda’s concealed trailer-wiring provisions.
2. Accessing the Factory Tow Connector
The vehicle-specific tow connector is located inside the driver-side cargo cubby near the rear wheel well. Necessary trim is handled carefully so the harness can plug into the factory connection without cutting the taillight wiring.
3. Connecting the Harness and Ground
The trailer-wiring harness is seated fully at the factory connector and secured in the protected cargo area. Its ground is attached to a clean, solid chassis point for reliable lighting operation.
4. Installing the Correct Towing Fuses
The required towing-circuit fuses are installed in the engine-compartment fuse panel. Because the correct fuse arrangement can vary by model year, each position is verified for the specific Pilot before power is restored.
5. Routing, Testing, and Reassembly
The flat-4 lead is routed to the center of the cargo area for use and protected storage. Running lights, brake lights, both turn signals, and ground integrity are tested before the battery, cargo panels, floor components, and connector dust cover are restored.
