Mazda CX-70 (2025–Present) & CX-90 (2024–Present) Flat-4 Wiring Installation

The CX-70 and CX-90 use a factory trailer-wiring connector behind the driver-side rear cargo trim. We clear the cargo area, connect and secure the vehicle-specific lighting module, ground it at the factory stud, install the required tow-circuit fuses, route the 4-flat through the rear floor grommet to a protected hitch-mounted position, test every lighting circuit, and carefully reassemble the vehicle.
Installation Time: Up to 1 additional hour

1. Disconnecting Power and Clearing the Cargo Area
The negative battery cable is disconnected and isolated before the rear seats are lowered and the cargo floor coverings, cargo tray, and rear threshold are removed. This protects the vehicle's electrical system and provides organized access to the rear trim.

2. Opening the Driver-Side Trim and Locating the Connector
The driver-side rear cargo hold-down is removed and the trim panel is eased back carefully. The factory white 10-pin trailer-tow connector is located behind the panel and inspected before the harness is connected.

3. Connecting and Securing the Lighting Module
The vehicle-specific connector is seated fully in the factory trailer-tow socket. The powered lighting module is mounted on a protected flat surface, and its ground wire is secured to the vehicle's factory ground stud.

4. Installing the Required Tow-Circuit Fuses
The engine-compartment fuse box is opened and the required tow-lighting fuses are installed in the specified positions and amperages. Each location is verified before power is restored to protect the vehicle's electrical system.

5. Routing, Testing, and Reassembly
The 4-flat lead is routed through the driver-side rear floor grommet and secured along the hitch in a protected position. Running lights, brake lights, and both turn signals are tested before the battery connection, spare tire, trim, threshold, trays, flooring, and dust cover are restored.
