We carefully remove the cargo floor panels and necessary rear interior trim to access the factory taillight wiring. A vehicle-specific T-connector plugs directly into the factory taillight connections without cutting, splicing, programming, or modifying the original wiring. The powered converter draws power directly from the battery and isolates the RAV4’s sensitive electronics from trailer-light demand.

The harness is routed and secured inside the vehicle, with the 4-flat connector stored neatly in the rear cargo area when it is not in use. To tow, the connector is draped through the rear hatch and the liftgate closes over it. The flexible weather seal protects the wire without damaging either the harness or the seal, reducing exposure to moisture, corrosion, and road debris.

Every powered trailer-wiring harness needs a fused 12-volt connection.
