Kia Telluride (2020–2022, Factory Tow Package) Flat-4 Wiring Installation
The 2020–2022 Telluride with the factory tow package uses an OEM-compatible rear connector for a clean plug-and-play flat-4 installation. We disconnect vehicle power, open the driver-side rear underbody access area, connect and secure the protected converter harness, route the 4-flat neatly to the hitch, test every lighting function, and restore the vehicle.

1. Disconnecting Power and Preparing the Harness
The negative battery terminal is disconnected and secured away from the battery to protect the vehicle's electrical system. The specified fuse is installed in the custom harness before the rear connection is opened.
2. Opening the Driver-Side Rear Access Area
The plastic shroud beneath the driver-side rear bumper is removed by releasing its push fasteners and retaining hardware. This exposes the Telluride's factory trailer-wiring connector without disturbing the taillights or interior cargo trim.
3. Connecting the Harness at the Factory Socket
The protective dust cap is removed from the vehicle connector without damaging its locking tabs. The OEM-compatible harness is then seated fully in the factory socket and checked to confirm that the connection is locked.
4. Mounting the Converter and Routing the 4-Flat
The circuit-protected converter is secured to a clean, protected flat surface near the factory connection. The 4-flat lead is routed across the rear of the vehicle to the hitch and all loose wiring is supported away from heat, road debris, sharp edges, and moving parts.
5. Testing, Protecting, and Reassembling the Vehicle
Running lights, brake lights, both turn signals, and ground operation are tested at the 4-flat connector. The dust cover is installed, the rear shroud and its hardware are restored, and the negative battery terminal is reconnected.
